Coota Girls hosted our first ever intergenerational family fun event on Friday 22nd November at the East Campbelltown Community Hall. The family fun event was a great success.
Our Coota family enjoyed the experience of a very tasty bush-tucka tasting table provided by the Koori Kulcha catering group who are Coota descendants. The opportunity to engage in a traditional weaving workshop supplied by the creative mob at Speaking in Colour was also available and was a hit with the kids and adults who came to the family fun event. We had the pleasure of watching a few performances by the Indigenous dancers from the Buja Buja dance group who were great with the kids and took time to teach them some traditional dance moves.
The kids had fun with other activities such as painting boomerangs, learning tricks from a magician, having their faces painted and seeing balloons come to life by the very talented balloon twister. There was a fairy floss machine there and goodie bags for the kids to take home.
To cap off the night, Coota Girls was able to gift the lucky winner of a lucky door prize a family pass for x4 on a harbour cruise with the Tribal Warrior, which was generously donated to us by the team at the Tribal Warrior.
Coota Girls would like to thank all the families who attended the Family Fun event.
