“I am 6 years old. I am Aboriginal. I am Dutch and I am Irish. I like to build Lego. I love to read and learn facts. I go bushwalking and look after animals. I am going to be taught how to play the Didgeridoo.
I Acknowledge Country at school and show my class my possum and kangaroo skins, didgeridoo and my clap sticks to help them learn.”

“Grandma” (Great-grandmother- Aunty Lorraine Darcy Peeters)
Can you tell us a little about Grandma (Great-grandmother – Aunty Lorraine Darcy Peeters)?
“Grandma is 82. When Grandma was four years old, she was stolen from her family. She never saw her Mum and Dad ever again. That makes me sad.
Grandma loves to colour in with me”

What does this mean to you as a Stolen Generations descendant? What are your hopes for First Nations people’s futures?
“Aboriginal people were the first people here. More than 65,000 years old.
I feel very proud and happy and special to be Aboriginal.
I hope First Nations people get better; I will feel sad if they don’t get better.”
